| In April 2002, San Antonio lost one of its historical landmarks. La Gloria located on the west side of San Antonio was an open air dance hall in the 1930s. Like much of the west side, lack of investment led to its disrepair. By the year 2002 it was an auto parts store. The owner despite community opposition and an offer to purchase the property, destroyed the building that so many elderly San Antonians had known and loved. |
